On May 28, 2020, I started a new 52-week money saving challenge - investing with funds at my local bank account ( 52 Week Money Saving Challenge 2.0. SEB Funds )
Today, already 21 weeks have passed since the launch, and I decided to write a quick update on how things are developing
The rules for this challenge are very simple - to deposit in the first week one euro, in the second week - two, third week - three, etc. The amount after each week continues to grow, up to the last week of the year, when it is 52 euro.
Now, today, October 12, it has been already 21 weeks passed and I've invested EUR 213 so far, while the value is a bit lower (around EUR 205)
I forget to invest on Week 18 and will do that in some of the future weeks (will invest EUR 18 for week 18)
For this challenge, I'm investing in SS1 SEB Eastern Europe ex Russia Fund C
The fund is actively managed focusing on Eastern Europe excluding Russia. More specifically, the Fund invests primarily in equities on exchanges in the EU convergence countries in Central Europe, Turkey, Baltics and Balkans while companies traded elsewhere, but having significant part of operation in the region are also eligible for investments. The team focuses on stock picking and targets a relatively high tracking error of 5-10%. Derivatives may be used to achieve the investment objective.
It is planned that at the end of this money-saving challenge I will have about EUR 1,546 invested. What will be the value - I have not an idea, but I believe it should be in the range of +/- 10%, so we are talking about EUR 1,400-1,700. Better the latter.
Whichever amount will come at the end, I have decided that I will re-invest all the money saved into INTC, KO, WBA, or AAPL shares, so I can sell covered calls on these stocks.
Currently, I'm holding 18 stocks of INTC and 10 stocks with KO, none WBA or AAPL.
As I still have some 7 months till the end of this challenge, I believe I will have some 40 shares with INTC, 60 shares with KO, 50 shares with WBA, and some 35 shares with AAPL.
With today's trading prices, for EUR 1,400 I could buy about ~31 shares of INTC, 33 shares of KO, 61 shares with WBA and 14 shares with AAPL
Depending on the market prices and situation I will invest saved money in the above mentioned stocks
