I'm continuing to follow up national selection for Eurovision 2015 song contest to be held in Vienna, Austria this May.
By now I have listed contestants and their songs under tag Eurovision.
Now it's turn to add a new contestant, this time Electro Velvet who is going to represent United Kingdom.
The BBC has revealed that Electro Velvet, a musical duo consisting of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas, will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, performing the song Still In Love With You.
About Electro Velvet
Alex, aged 35, from Welwyn Garden City and Bianca, aged 26, from Beckenham in Kent will be flying the flag for the United Kingdom at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with their debut song Still In Love With You.
Alex Larke says:
I feel incredibly privileged and humbled to be representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, for this massively historic 60th anniversary event. We have a fantastic song and will work as hard as is humanly possible to bring the contest home and make our great nation proud. It's time to get this party started! See you in Vienna!
Bianca says:
I am so proud to have been chosen to be a part of the world’s biggest song contest - Eurovision! It's such an honour to represent the UK, especially in its 60th year too! I have never been to Austria before, and I can't wait to get out to Vienna and do my best, and I hope to make the UK proud!
ABOUT EUROVISION 2015 SONG CONTEST
The Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will be the 60th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will take place in Vienna, Austria, following Conchita Wurst's victory in the 2014 edition with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix". This will be the second time that Austria will host the contest after holding its 1967 edition also in Vienna. The contest will consist of two semi-finals which will take place on 19 and 21 May, and a final on 23 May 2015. The shows will be presented by Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer. Thirty-nine countries will participate in the contest, with Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and Serbia returning, while Ukraine announced their withdrawal due to financial and political reasons.
