Latest Stock Buy: XIN (Assigned)

Updated: 15 November, 2019 seen 41

On October 17, 2019, I bought (got assigned) 100 shares of Xinyuan Real Estate (XIN ) at $5.00 per share. With its quarterly dividend payout of 0.1 dollars per share, this latest buy has a dividend yield of 8% and will pay us $10 (before tax) every quarter. Awesome!

XIN has been in our portfolio since October 2018, see Latest Stock Buy: XIN, since then I have been successfully selling covered calls and naked puts on it. That's actually how I got assigned it now, I was selling a naked put on XIN a while ago. And in October 17, the put expired in the money and I got assigned.

Now I tend to sell naked puts on dividend stocks I like, so I feel actually really great after this option expired in the money. This is already the second time this year when I'm getting assigned XIN, see Latest Stock Buy: Xinyuan Real Estate (XIN )

By now XIN stock takes 7.55% from our US stock portfolio, and also is one of the biggest dividend payers in the portfolio by now.

For the rest of the year, we are looking to take $17 (after tax) from this buy, which is about 0.83% from our $2,045 goal for 2019.

2018 in Review and Financial Goals for 2019

In total XIN now contributes about $114.03 yearly to the dividend income portfolio.

From now on I plan to sell more covered calls on XIN and collect hefty dividend every quarter.
