On July 10, 2018 I bought 82 shares of First Trust Specialty Finance and Financial Opportunities Fund (FGB ) at $6.1285 per share. With its quarterly dividend of 0.175 cents per share, this latest buy has a dividend yield of 11.42% and will pay me $14.35 every quarter. Awesome!
FGB stock has a dividend payments in February, May, August, and November. Which is cool, as most of these months (except May) are the lowest for my dividend income. This February was among the lowest dividend income month's this year, barely reaching $60. Now with adding FGB stock, I'm looking on much, much better February 2019.
Also I bought this stock shortly before August dividend payment, just to boost a little bit this years August dividend income (last year I made barely $40 in dividend income)
For the rest of the year, I'm looking to get $28.7 from this stock, which is about 2.39% from my $1,200 goal for 2018.
