In past I have created many GDP reviews regarding former Soviet Union republics, but have never made future GDP forecast report yet. In this article that's exactly what I'm doing. Now, Soviet Union doesn't exist for more than 25 years already. Those former 15 republics have gone more or less separate way since dissolution of USSR.   There has happened some geopolitical changes over last 25 years, starting of dissolution of USSR, formation of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), three of…

Turkey could join Eurasian Union

That said makes me think, that Turkey has no serious plans to join Eurasian Union. IMHO Turkey is teasing European Union. And why shouldn't? Turkey has long, long history on it's attempts to join European Union, but there always are some obstacles from EU side. And that makes Turkey angry. From one side - EU is feeling fears, if Turkey will join EU, then mass migration of Turkish job seekers will over flood EU, on other hand it sounds kinda ridiculous. Germany, the main country against Turkey…

Recently I wrote an article about Georgia, then, now - future, this time I would like to write about Armenia. Landlocked land, with huge economic problems, ongoing conflicts with neighboring Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karbakh region. A country that plans to enter Eurasian Union on January 1st, 2014.   Let's start with some basic chart: As seen from the chart above, Armenia, as well as neighboring Georgia, is no exception, in economic shrink after collapsing of Soviet Union. Now let's take a…
