Disclosure: This is a sponsored story about Envestio and I got paid for promoting it on blog. Currently, I don't hold any investments with Envestio. Also, I'm not a financial advisor and don't bear any responsibility if you will decide to invest with Envestio. Investments in crowdfunding, stocks, funds, bonds or cryptos are risk investments and you could lose some or all of your money. Do your due diligence before investing in any kind of asset.
Update: February 17, 2020 Seems Envestio has run away with investor funds. On February 16, 2020 Latvian Television aired in De facto show: Crowdfunding platforms - virtually unattended; criminal proceedings also in Latvia
Already, two crowd funding platforms - Envestio and Kuetzal - created by residents of Latvia but registered in Estonia, have disappeared, leaving investors uncertain of the prospects of ever recovering their invested money. The National Police's Economic Crime Bureau (ENAP) reports that the platform operates on the principle of a financial pyramid and, following their disappearance, criminal proceedings have been initiated in both Latvia and Estonia, reports LTV's De facto.
I have updated article by removing any active link to the website (which is down)

Also, I feel sad in the first place accepting such a sponsored story on the blog and probably leading some investor to lose their money with Envestio.com. Damage is done. From now on I won't accept sponsored stories on peer to peer lending platforms anymore - a good platform doesn't need to pay for it's marketing.
Latvian police are urging people who have lost money due to the disappearance of these platforms to write to the Estonian police (details on Envestio - firstname.lastname@example.org; on Keutzal - email@example.com) as they are currently collecting information on the total amount of the loss and the number of victims, but this does not exclude the possibility of applying to the Latvian institution.
For history, I'm leaving the rest of the article intact
End of the update
Everyone is familiar with crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo. They have helped to raise financing for numerous companies and startups that have by now created world famous brands and products. All of that was made possible thanks to thousands of individual private investors. Over the recent years, we can see an increasing trend of public financing opportunities. Suddenly there is no need to fight for financing from persistently skeptical banks or investors, that are extremely hard to approach. Crowdfunding platforms have changed that by providing an opportunity for each business.
But let’s look at the other side of the story. New opportunities have opened also for the general public. With the help of crowdinvesting everyone with some spare funds can become an investor and gain profit from it. Crowdinvesting is a growing power on financial markets with thousands of great projects finding necessary financing for successful development through online investment marketplaces such as Envestio. And it is a great opportunity to earn money with diversified investments. Envestio business model includes cooperation with investment project owners in the field of providing bridge financing/temporary equity replacement for their business projects. Let’s get a closer look at the company.
Crowdinvesting with Envestio marketplace
Started as a private investment fund in 2014, Envestio is a steadily growing company in the industry of “New Finance” or “Finance 2.0”, which offers investors from different countries premium investment opportunities through online crowdfunding marketplace. Currently you can fund investment projects with annual return from 14% up to 30%, depending on length and risk category of the project.
Envestio provides investment opportunities in different industries - right now there are investment opportunities in real estate, cryptocurrency mining, renewable energy production and urban mining projects. Funds, gathered via Envestio portal, constitute a certain share of total financing that is attracted to specific project, besides traditional funding from banks etc. Respectively, the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) for these projects is much lower than interest rate, payable to Envestio participants. Individual investors can register on the marketplace and start investing with as little as 100 EUR!
Why you should choose Envestio?
At Envestio public investors are offered only those investment projects, which successfully passed a thorough and unbiased due diligence process, conducted by a professional team. You can start investing instantly and receive profit already after a few months. The loan term for projects currently varies from 45 days to 5 months. Also, it is important to mention that all investments made on the platform come with a principal buyback option. This serves as an insurance and allows you to withdraw the funds at any time during the project funding process. The user interface is simple, intuitive and easy to use.
Among other competitors, Envestio stands out by approaching the investment projects from an ethical perspective – their supported projects help build businesses and infrastructure that creates stable new jobs. In comparison to similar websites offering investment in peer to peer lending schemes, Envestio does not support the so-called “payday loan” industry, which can actually harm the economy and people in it.
How to start investing?
Creating an investor account on the platform is free of charge and you can start investing in just a few simple steps. Sign up using the short registration form to enter the investor dashboard. Once funds have been deposited on your investor account using safe bank transfer, you are all set to start investing! You can explore the available investment opportunities by browsing the project section. Choose a project, specify the investment amount and start gaining profit!
