April 2021 Dividend Income Report - $49.71

Welcome to the forty-eight (#48) dividend income report, covering earnings I've made from dividend-paying stocks in April 2021.

The last April we finally returned to Georgia, did a few road trips, resumed going to the gym and swimming pool, re-started English kindergarten for our daughter. Oh, life seems so good. I was doing quite a lot of awesome drone videography around the country. It feels so well, being back to Georgia after almost 6-month absence.

From the perspective of dividend income - Last April was low. The thing is it is about a year already I'm not focusing on dividends at all, instead, I'm growing my total portfolio using options trades.

In total, we took some shy $49.71  in dividend income last month. Which is still quite OK, for doing nothing

Compared to the previous April in 2020, when we took $78.411 in dividend income, my monthly dividend has decreased by -36.59%  (-$28.69). A year ago we did set a goal to take at least $200 this month, now this didn't happen.

Luckily, an additional $6,083.71 was made from options trading.

As options trading is not a passive form of making money while you are sleeping it wouldn't be fair to include them in dividend income reports.

Speaking about options trades, last month I launched CoveredCalls.info a daily newsletter about investing with covered calls, and a YouTube channel where I talk about stock investments and options trading.

here is my video about options income in April:

Interest income in April 2021

From the stocks we got the following income last month:

KO $14.28
PNNT $10.20
O $16.77
RA $8.46

Total: $49.71

Despite the dividend income is low, compared to previous years, I like what I see here, good quality stocks like KO and O... I hope to see some dividend bump in the next quarter's start month (July), as more KO and O stock will be added. More PNNT could be added too I guess.

Monthly income

I've been tracking my journey towards million dollars in a savings account since January 2017. More than 4 years already.

Monthly dividend income as of April 2021

Monthly dividend income as of April 2021

The cumulative earnings for 2021 now are $254.41 which is exactly 9.78% from my goal of 2021 ($2,600). On average, it would ask me to generate $293.2 every month for the next 8 months to reach my goal. Right, now this goal looks pretty much impossible

Goals for April 2021

This is my favorite part of the reports - trying to forecast/set goals for the next year. But before setting a goal for 2022, let's see what I forecasted/said a year ago (April 2020)

When setting goals for 2021 - I will say anything above $200 will be a great result. To get there it will ask a lot of smart investments and a lot of cash deployed

Nope, not happening this time.

Now, when looking at April 2022, I will be quite optimistic I say USD 150 is what I'm looking at.

Now, there is one more fun thing I would like to do - reinvest all dividends in quality dividend aristocrat stock, more on that in other articles.

Wow, what a month, despite a low dividend income month I feel very optimistic and think this is the lowest point and future months and years will bring in more monthly dividends.
