Etchmiadzin Cathedral is considered the oldest cathedral in the world. The original church was built in the early fourth century between 301 and 303 according to tradition by Armenia's patron saint Gregory the Illuminator, following the adoption of Christianity as a state religion by King Tiridates III.  I had a chance to visit this holy site at start of 2014, a harsh winter was in Yerevan and affected photos listed bellow. We stayed at this boutique hotel in Yerevan for 2 nights at the start of January 2014. This hotel is one of the best I have visited lately. It's truly a boutique hotel - apartments are clean and warm. The King size bed is awesome and Sateliite TV with more than 200 Russian (and not only) channels is all the traveler needs.The hotel offers a really nice feature - breakfast in the room.
