In today's article - Life expectancy in European Union (EU).
Life expectancy equals the average number of years a person born in a given country expected to live if mortality rates at each age were to remain steady in the future. In following table I have listed the life expectancy separately for males and females, as well as a combined figure in EU in year 2015.
There was an average life expectancy in EU of 79.6 years for both female and male. With higher life expectancy for females (82.4) and lower for male (76.6). TOP 3 countries with highest life expectancy rates are Spain, Italy and Sweden.

In 2015 there were 18 nations in EU with average life expectancy higher than 80 years, while in 10 countries, all of them located in Eastern and Central Europe, it was lower than 80 years (Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Latvia, Bulgaria and Lithuania)

It is interesting to observe, that the higher life expectancy is not always related to better minimum and average salary in country, as for example neither Spain or Italy leads in average or minimum wage tables.
