Putraimi recreational area is located in Snēpele parish, Kuldīga municipality, some 170 km from nation's capital.

I discovered this place by a chance in the Summer of 2021, and though I didn't stay overnight here I would love to return here and have some outdoor barbecue in the future.

Here at Putraimi, they have several ponds with fish. Outdoor lovers and fishing enthusiasts will enjoy this place.

Ampelo Resort is located in the Kardanaki village some 2 hour drive from the Tbilisi. Reosrt feature a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge, and a garden.

There is an outdoor / infiniti pool, but at the time we visited this place it seemed the water is not heated (unlike in some other Kakhetian resorts, like Lopota lake, for example) 

We booked a family room for a one night stay at this hotel at the end of August 2021 and paid GEL 480 ( USD 150) for that.

Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, evening entertainment and a 24-hour front desk.

Guests at the hotel can enjoy a buffet or a vegetarian breakfast.

Ampelo Resort offers a sun terrace.

We enjoed at lot the kid corner with a trampoline and wide variety of grapes 

The nearest airport is Tbilisi International, 76 km from the accommodation, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service.

7 Dividend Stocks To accumulate while selling Put options for extra income

In today's article, I'm going to talk about 7 dividend stocks I don't mind having in my portfolio and how I'm generating additional semi-passive income by selling put options (or credit spreads) on them.

Dividend stocks

Dividend stocks are companies that pay out regular dividends. Dividend stocks are usually well-established companies with a track record of distributing earnings back to shareholders.

Put options

A put option is a contract giving the owner the right, but not the obligation, to sell–or sell short–a specified amount of an underlying security at a pre-determined price within a specified time frame. This pre-determined price that buyer of the put option can sell at is called the strike price.

Credit Spreads

A credit spread involves selling, or writing, a high-premium option and simultaneously buying a lower premium option. The premium received from the written option is greater than the premium paid for the long option, resulting in a premium credited into the trader or investor's account when the position is opened. When traders or investors use a credit spread strategy, the maximum profit they receive is the net premium. The credit spread results in a profit when the options' spreads narrow.

Right, now when we have some basic understanding, let's dive in:

Selling put options on PFE stock

I must admit PFE is my biggest surprise, and the company seems but overvalued right now, but as I still think this is a great company with a dividend yield above 3%, I wouldn't mind having a few hundred shares more in my portfolio.

I have been selling puts on Pfizer stock since January 2020. Pfizer stock also contributes some bits to our dividend income in the following months: March, June, September, and December

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put on Pfizer stock with a September 23 expiry and strike price of $46 for about $0.82. That gets you $82 and makes about 1.78% return in less than 30 days. Or about 21.36% annualized.  Break-even: $45.18

If PFE stock closes above $46 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $46 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

Remember, you are selling one contract, 100 shares of PFE stock, make sure you have $4,600 cash or buying power (margin) to buy 100 shares if assigned.

Selling put options on INTC stock

Intel stock has been in my portfolio since May 2020.. I like this stock a lot, the only thing that worries me - Apples move away from the Intel chips. I would more alerted buying a few hunderd shares know, but a decent 2.5% dividend and juicy options premium seems is worth the risk.

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put on INTC stock with a September 23 expiry and strike price of $53 for about $1.08. That gets you $108 and makes about 2.02%  potential income return in less than 30 days.  Break-even: $51.92

If INTC stock closes above $53 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $53 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

Remember, you are selling one contract, 100 shares of INTC stock, make sure you have $5,300 cash or buying power (margin) to buy 100 shares if assigned.

Selling Put options on WBA stock

Just like in the case with PFE stock, WBA stock seems bit overvalued to me, but a nice dividend of almost 4% and juicy premiums leaves me to love this stock. WBA has been in my stock portfoio since the start of 2021.

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put on WBA stock with a September 24 expiry and strike price of $47 for about $0.7. That gets you $70 and makes about 1.48%  potential income return in less than 30 days.  Break-even: $46.30

If WBA stock closes above $47 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $47 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

Remember, you are selling one contract, 100 shares of WBA stock, make sure you have $4,700 cash or buying power (margin) to buy 100 shares if assigned.

Selling put options on HPQ stock

HPQ stock is one of the latest additions to my stock portfolio

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put  option on HPQ stock with a September 24 expiry and strike price of $26 for about $0.51. That gets you $51 and makes about 1.96%  potential income return in less than 30 days.  Break-even: $25.49

If HPQ stock closes above $26 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $26 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

Selling put options on Gold

I like exposure to gold, and Barrick Gold actually is a stock compnay owning gold mines. This stock has been in my portfolio since the early April 2021

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put  option on GOLD stock with a September 24 expiry and strike price of $19 for about $0.33 That gets you $51 and makes about 1.73%  potential income return in less than 30 days.  Break-even: $18.67

If GOLD stock closes above $19 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $19 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

Remember, you are selling one contract, 100 shares of GOLD stock, make sure you have $1,900 cash or buying power (margin) to buy 100 shares if assigned.

Selling put options on XOM

XOM stock is one of the latest additions to my stock portfolio

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put option on XOM stock with a September 24 expiry and strike price of $53 for about $0.83 That gets you $83 and makes about 1.56%  potential income return in less than 30 days.  Break-even: $52.17

If XOM stock closes above $53 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $53 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

Actually, Apple is one of my favorite tech stocks, the current price might seem a bit high, and when entering a trade with AAPL stock I would think of using a credit spread.

On August 25, 2021, you could sell a put option on AAPL stock with a September 24 expiry and strike price of $140 for about $1.10 That gets you $110 and makes about 0.78%  potential income return in less than 30 days.  Break-even: $138.90

If AAPL stock closes above $140 on September 24 you keep the premium and start over. If the stock closes under $140 you get assigned but check your break-even points. There are several options you could use not to get assigned, like a roll down or roll forward. Or you could take stock, collect dividends and sell covered calls. Win, win, win

The Bottom Line

The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia

The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia is an open-air museum located just outside Riga, the capital of Latvia, on the lightly wooded shores of Jugla Lake.

The museum currently occupies 87 hectares and displays 118 buildings, as well as more than 3,000 items. Most of Latvia's historical ethnic groups are represented in the museum. The museum's collection holds approximately 150,000 artifacts.

Despite being a native of Riga, I first visited this place back in the Summer of 2021

In 1924, the Latvian Council of Monuments signed an order to create the open-air museum in Riga.

The idea for the new museum was inspired by open-air museums in Scandinavia, particularly Skansen in Stockholm.

The plan was to relocate a homestead from all four regions of Latvia – Courland, Zemgale, Vidzeme and Latgale – to the museum.

Each of the buildings would represent the different crafts of each area. The new museum acquired land from a state land fund in the sandy dunes near Jugla Lake, just outside the city. In 1928, the first building, a barn from Vestiena parish was relocated and rebuilt in the museum. In 1932, the museum was opened to the public with six buildings (Vidzeme homestead). In 1939, there were already 40 buildings erected in the museum. Every region had its homestead and several other buildings of architectural or cultural value represented here.

In the 1930s the museum became a very popular place and the community actively participated in the development of the museum. Several buildings were relocated and rebuilt, funded by private donations. During World War II, the museum remained mostly undamaged, but most of its pre-war personnel were unavailable after having been repressed or forced into exile. Many documents were also lost during this period. After the war, the new Soviet power didn't understand the nature of the museum and even declared it ideologically incorrect. Only in the late 1960s did the museum see a renaissance, when a new generation of museum specialists started to work in the museum. As communication with other countries was improved, the territory of the museum was expanded and many new and high-value objects were placed into the museum.

When Latvia regained its independence in 1991, the museum started actively collecting and documenting Latvian heritage from the 1920s and 1930s, a period during which Latvian agrarian reforms reshaped the Latvian countryside. As a result, a new complex of farmers' homesteads from the 1930s was opened in 1997.

Today, the museum organizes many cultural events, such as folk concerts and traditional and craft festivals. The museum promotes traditional Latvian culture and lifestyle with these cultural events. The annual traditional craft fair has been organized by the museum since 1971. The annual crafts fair become the museum's most famous annual event, attended by tens of thousands of people every year.

Abano Mineral Lake Natural Monument

Abano Mineral Lake Natural Monument is a small lake in Kazbegi Municipality in Truso valley on the left bank of Terek River, to the east of the village Abano at 2,127 m above sea level.

First discovered back in Summer of 2021, during the Kazbegi trip

The lake was created by a carbon dioxide filled underground stream flowing to the surface through carbonate rocks from the late Jurassic period.

The lake "boils" loudly with carbon dioxide bubbles bursting. The outflow of the stream is 2.5 million liters per 24 hours. 

The total surface area of the lake is 0.04 ha. The emission of gas in calm weather causes carbon dioxide to accumulate in lower levels. Small animals suffocate when they get near the lake, which is why there are dead animals there, such as mice, lizards, frogs and some birds.

Restaurant Nīcava is located in Nīca town, Latvia. some 230 km from the nation's capital Riga, sandwiched between Liepāja and Jūrmalciems.

We paid here a short stop in mid-July 2021, while traveling to the Pape beach

Turns out there is both a motel/guest house and a restaurant. Restaurant here serves typical Latvian cuisine. 

Quite a nice place. We enjoyed here something from the grill menu and a few drinks.

Best stock options trading platform in Georgia (and most of the rest of the World)

I've been trading stocks for about 20 years, I still remember the days around the millennium when I visited the bank office in person to place a stock buy or sell order. 

Not so long away, me too - I was on the searches for the best online discount broker.

My online searches found Degiro and Interactive Brokers.

Back when I was looking to open my account, Interactive Brokers asked for a minimum deposit of USD 10,000, which I didn't have at that moment.

And then a blog reader pointed to the Lynx Broker.  Actually, I'm using Lynx Broker to this day. As Lynx Broker is affiliated to Interactive Brokers (they use the same TWS platform) - when friends and family asking for recommendation, I just skip the Lynx part (sorry, for that, this is still great broker platform, just the commission fee for the US securities is a bit high, though are very cheap for European securities) - and point straight to the Interactive Brokers, nowadays you can open an account without a minimum capital, and fees are low (some qualify for free)

For options trading, I'm using Dutch Lynx broker (which is a partner of Interactive Brokers).

There is no broker in Georgia I know about offering decent commissions and options trading, the only one I could think about is  Galt and Taggart, but not sure they offer options.

Anyhow, as a user of Interactive Brokers I would recommend stick with IBKR.

Recently I faced an issue with a video uploaded to YouTube, the video featured parts that needed to be removed or pixelated. After a quick google search I found this awesome video tutorial, and here is how:

From the Effects panel search for 'mosaic' - > choose from Stylize and apply Mosaic to all clip

If you are looking to pixelate just a part of the video, say a face or body, from the effect Control window, under the Mosaic, select oval shape (or square)

To make it automatically track a person, from the Mask path, click the play button (but before that, make sure you are at the start of the clip)

Set some 3 km from the city center of Pāvilosta  Butterfly House offers accommodation with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a garden, and free private parking.

We booked this place for a 2-night stay in mid-July and paid EUR 266. We chose this hotel as we were looking for some nice place to stay and throw a birthday party for our 3-year-old daughter. It seems we booked the most spacious room, some 100m2 and were able to accomodate up to 8 guests, which we actually did, some of our birthday guess stayed overnight.

We had a chance to grill some meat in front of the house, which we bought at the local Pāvilosta shop

Turns out, the place is owned  by the same guy, who owned Fontaine Royal hotel in Liepāja), and seems they have took some things from Liepāja, Deli snack for example

Quite nice, we had a chance to order some foow here at hotel. Very nice.

All units comprise a seating area with a sofa, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with various cooking facilities, including a fridge, a stovetop and a toaster. For added convenience, the property can provide towels and bed linen for an extra charge.

Otrā Elpa is located in the center of Valka. Guests are welcome to use free Wi-Fi in all areas of this property.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times, and last time did it so back in the mid-July 2021, when had a quick trip to Valka and nearby area

Decorated in light colours, all rooms here will provide you with cable TV and a table. Private bathrooms also come with a shower.

For a stay here with some hearty brekfast I paid about EUR 50
