Recovering from Google Penalties: Best Practices and Proven Techniques

| Blogging | 3 seen

Google penalties are a dreaded term for any website owner or digital marketer. A penalty can lead to a drop in website rankings, a decrease in website traffic, and ultimately, a loss of revenue. If you've been hit with a Google penalty, there's no need to panic. With the right approach, it's possible to recover from a penalty and regain your website's rankings. In this article, we'll explore what Google penalties are, the different types of penalties, and how to recover from them.

Google penalties are punishments imposed by Google for violating the search engine's guidelines. Google penalties can be manually applied by a Google employee, or they can be algorithmic penalties. Algorithmic penalties are automated and triggered by the Google algorithm when it detects that a website is violating its guidelines.

Types of Google Penalties

There are two main types of Google penalties: manual and algorithmic. Manual penalties are applied by a Google employee, while algorithmic penalties are automatically triggered by Google's algorithm.

Manual Penalties Manual penalties occur when a Google employee manually reviews a website and determines that it violates Google's guidelines. Manual penalties are more severe than algorithmic penalties, and they can lead to a complete removal of a website from the search results.

Algorithmic Penalties Algorithmic penalties occur when a website violates Google's guidelines, and the algorithm automatically detects the violation. These penalties are less severe than manual penalties, but they can still lead to a drop in website rankings and traffic.

How to Recover from Google Penalties

If your website has been hit with a Google penalty, don't worry. There are steps you can take to recover from the penalty and regain your website's rankings.

Step 1: Identify the Penalty The first step in recovering from a Google penalty is to identify the type of penalty you've been hit with. You can do this by checking your Google Search Console account, where Google will send a message if you've received a manual penalty. For algorithmic penalties, you'll need to analyze your website's traffic data to see if there was a drop in rankings on the date of a Google algorithm update.

Step 2: Fix the Issue Once you've identified the type of penalty, the next step is to fix the issue. For manual penalties, you'll need to identify the issue that caused the penalty and fix it. For algorithmic penalties, you'll need to analyze your website to determine what changes you can make to comply with Google's guidelines.

Step 3: Submit a Reconsideration Request If you've received a manual penalty, you'll need to submit a reconsideration request to Google once you've fixed the issue. In your request, you'll need to explain the steps you've taken to fix the issue and provide evidence to support your claim.

Step 4: Wait for Google's Response Once you've submitted your reconsideration request, you'll need to wait for Google to review your website and respond to your request. Google's response can take several weeks, so be patient.

Conclusion

Google penalties can be a nightmare for website owners and digital marketers, but with the right approach, it's possible to recover from a penalty and regain your website's rankings. The key is to identify the type of penalty you've been hit with, fix the issue, and submit a reconsideration request to Google. By taking these steps, you can recover from a penalty and get your website back on track.

Regaining Lost Website Traffic: Tips for Dealing with a Drop in Organic Search Traffic

| Blogging | 5 seen

Losing organic search traffic from Google's SERP can be a frustrating experience for any website owner. However, it is a common occurrence in the world of search engine optimization. There are several reasons why a website may lose organic search traffic, including changes to Google's algorithm, increased competition, or technical issues with the website itself.

Regardless of the cause, it is important to take action to try to regain lost traffic. Here are some steps to take:

  • Identify the source of the problem: The first step in dealing with lost organic search traffic is to identify the source of the problem. Check your website's traffic data to see which pages have lost traffic and when the traffic drop occurred. If the drop coincides with a Google algorithm update, then it is likely that the update caused the drop. If there are technical issues with the website, such as broken links or slow page load times, then these should be addressed as soon as possible.

  • Analyze your competitors: If you have lost traffic due to increased competition, then it is important to analyze your competitors. Look at their website structure, content, and keyword strategy to identify areas where they may be outranking you. Use this information to improve your own website and make it more competitive.

  • Focus on high-quality content: Content is one of the most important factors in SEO. If your website has lost traffic, then it may be time to take a closer look at your content. Make sure your content is high-quality, relevant, and engaging for your target audience. Use keyword research to identify new topics to write about and to optimize your existing content.

  • Build high-quality backlinks: Backlinks are still an important factor in SEO, and building high-quality backlinks can help improve your website's ranking in Google's SERP. Focus on building backlinks from authoritative websites in your industry. This can be done by creating valuable content that other websites want to link to, or by reaching out to other website owners and asking for a link.

  • Monitor your progress: Finally, it is important to monitor your progress as you implement these strategies. Use analytics tools to track your website's traffic and ranking in Google's SERP. If you see improvements, then continue to build on these strategies. If you do not see improvements, then it may be time to reevaluate your strategy and try something new.

  • In conclusion, losing organic search traffic from Google's SERP can be frustrating, but it is not the end of the world. By following these steps and implementing a strong SEO strategy, it is possible to regain lost traffic and improve your website's ranking in Google's SERP.

Why Arrow is a Must-Watch for Superhero Fans: A Review

    | Documentaries | 8 seen

"Arrow" is a popular American superhero television series that premiered on The CW in 2012. The show is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, and it stars Stephen Amell in the lead role.

The series follows the story of billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, who returns to his hometown of Starling City after being stranded on a deserted island for five years. Once back, he takes on the mantle of a hooded vigilante to fight crime and corruption in the city. As the series progresses, Oliver takes on various villains, both in his public persona as the head of his company and in his secret identity as the Green Arrow.

One of the highlights of "Arrow" is the well-choreographed and visually stunning action sequences. The show's fight scenes are intense, and they do a great job of showcasing Oliver's skills as an archer and hand-to-hand combatant.

Another standout feature of the series is its strong ensemble cast, including David Ramsey as Oliver's confidante and bodyguard, and Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, the tech-savvy IT expert who becomes a key member of Oliver's team.

Despite some criticism of the later seasons and story arcs, "Arrow" remains a thrilling and captivating series with compelling characters and a well-crafted narrative. It's a must-watch for fans of the superhero genre and action-adventure shows.

    January 2014 - Blog Income Report $8.37

    | Blogging | 11 seen

Welcome to the first online income report of www.reinisfischer.com website.

My blog now is about 4 months old, and starting in January I decided to experiment - can a blogger earn any decent income from blogging, I decided to make public my online success or failures. I have been active online since 2005, it's almost 10 years now. But my online income was and still is relatively low.

In a matter of 5 years, I have earned Google AdSense a lit bit more than $100. But I'm willing to change that.

Starting this year (2014) - I have implemented Google AdSense on 4 properties (including this blog), they all are modest in daily traffic.

For now, I'm using Google AdSense (on 4 properties) and Booking.com (1 property) affiliate to monetize my sites.

Here is my online income report for January.

    • Google AdSense - $8.37
    • Booking affiliate - 0

    Total - $8.37

On average in January I earned $0.27 per day. What makes me below extreme poverty if compared to the World's poorest country

Recently I set up my first AdSense goal - to break even my hosting expenses, which make about $40/month. To achieve this, I must earn at least $1.29 per day. I guess achieving my first AdSense goal should be relatively easy - I must increase my revenue about 4.7 times per day. Or let's say I must drive 4.7 times more visitors, or better raise CPC.

Update: It took me about 19 months to actually crack that $40/mo milestone. Read more: How I Reached My Google AdSense Goal To Make $40.00/mo In 19 months

Speaking of CPC - yes, in January it was pretty low, but I changed ad placement above the fold, and it went up pretty well. So in this case, it's rather to improve CTR and CPC, than just drive traffic, What I actually did in January I drove pretty good traffic from Facebook, and I got a pretty huge traffic spike from Reddit.

In both cases, my sites were not optimized for good CTR, and I received too few clicks for the huge amount of traffic I received.

My guess is that in February I should be about $10, but with expectations of about 2 times less traffic.

Thank you for reading this, if you enjoyed it, please leave me a comment.

How To Display Image Galleries with Thumbnails on Drupal with Flex Slider

    | Drupal Development | 130 seen

Recently, I faced a challenge while trying to display image galleries on a Drupal-powered website.

While there are a few modules that you can use to build your gallery view, such as the Views Slideshow Gallery module, I recently discovered some Drupal-powered sites using the Flex Slider library.

Excited by this new discovery, I tried to create a gallery with thumbnails, but unfortunately, it didn't work out as expected. However, I eventually found a solution on how to configure Flex Slider to work on Drupal.

    Here are the steps required:

  • Download the Flex Slider module, extract it to sites/all/modules
  • Enable the Flex Slider and Flex Slider Views Display
  • Download the FlexSlider library from https://github.com/woothemes/FlexSlider/tree/version/2.2
  • Unzip the file and rename the folder to "flexslider" (pay attention to the case of the letters)
  • Put the folder in a libraries directory - Ex: sites/all/libraries
  • Ensure you have a valid path for all required files: jquery.flexslider-min.js, flexslider.css, and jquery.flexslider.js
  • Go to admin/config/media/flexslider and create two new types, one for the gallery slider and another for the thumbnail slider.
  • Create a new view, Gallery (block), to display the gallery slider. Set the format to Flexslider | Settings Option Set - Gallery and add the Images field.
  • Create another block on the same view, call it Thumbnails. Set the format to Flexslider | Settings Option Set - Thumbnail and add the Images field.
  • Make sure to remove the checkbox under Multiple Field Settings for the Images field.
  • Place both blocks under the content region or any other preferred region.
  • Go back to Flex Slider options, open the Gallery type, and under the Advanced Options tab, find the Sync field and enter "#flexslider-2." This will make both views work together.
  • Edit the Thumbnail type and make any desired adjustments. Make sure to turn off the pager under Navigation and Controls for the thumbnail type.
  • With these steps, you should now be able to successfully display image galleries on your Drupal-powered site using Flex Slider.

Hire Reinis Fischer today and experience the difference that a top Drupal specialist can make for your website development project!

How to Create a Stunning Masonry Front Page in Drupal: A Step-by-Step Guide

    | Drupal Development | 48 seen

Creating a Drupal masonry front page can be an effective way to showcase your website's content in a visually appealing way.

Masonry layouts are popular for their ability to display content in an organized and dynamic manner, allowing users to easily navigate and explore your website.

In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the steps to create a Drupal masonry front page.

Step 1: Install and enable the Masonry module

To begin, you'll need to install and enable the Masonry module in your Drupal site. This can be done through the Drupal administration dashboard by navigating to Extend > Install new module, and then searching for "Masonry" in the search bar. Once you've installed and enabled the module, you can begin configuring your masonry front page.

Step 2: Create a new view

To create a masonry front page, you'll need to create a new view. In the Drupal administration dashboard, navigate to Structure > Views > Add new view. Give your new view a name and choose "Show content of type" as the view's base table. Then, select the content types that you want to display on your masonry front page.

    Step 3: Configure the view

Once you've created your new view, you'll need to configure it to display your content in a masonry layout. Under the Format section, choose the "Masonry" format and configure the settings as desired. You can adjust the number of columns, the width of the gaps between the content blocks, and other visual aspects of your masonry layout.

Step 4: Customize the view's fields

To further customize your masonry front page, you can adjust the fields that are displayed in each content block. Under the Fields section of your view, you can choose which fields are displayed, adjust their order, and configure their display settings. This allows you to create a masonry front page that showcases your content in the most effective way possible.

Step 5: Save and preview your masonry front page

Once you've configured your view, be sure to save your changes and preview your masonry front page to ensure that everything is displaying correctly. You can access your new masonry front page by navigating to the URL that corresponds with your view's path.

At this point, you may be wondering whether you have the time and expertise to create a custom masonry front page in Drupal on your own. If you're not confident in your Drupal development skills, or if you simply don't have the time to invest in learning how to do it yourself, then hiring a professional Drupal development company like DrupalTbilisi.com can be a smart choice.

DrupalTbilisi.com has years of experience in Drupal development and can help you create a custom, professional-looking website that meets your unique needs. They have a team of Drupal experts who can work with you to understand your business goals and branding requirements, and create a customized masonry front page solution that fits your needs and budget.

In conclusion, creating a masonry front page in Drupal can be a powerful tool for showcasing your website's content in a visually appealing and organized way.

Whether you choose to tackle it on your own or hire a professional Drupal development company like DrupalTbilisi.com, the key is to focus on creating a masonry front page that is visually engaging, user-friendly, and showcases your content in the most effective way possible.

Making Money Online with AdSense: My Journey to a $40 Monthly Income

    | Blogging | 10 seen

I've been blogging for a while now and recently, I published my first online income report, showing a grand total of eight dollars earned from Google AdSense. This might not seem like much, but it's actually an improvement from the previous years. I've been using Google AdSense on low-traffic websites since 2009, and over that period, I've earned just a little over $100. That's about $20 a year, or about $1.66 per month, or just $0.05 a day.

The reason my AdSense earnings have been so low is due to two reasons: first, I haven't used Google AdSense for all the 5 years, and second, my websites have had low traffic, barely reaching 1,000 visitors per month. I haven't paid much attention to CTR, CPC, and other metrics that could have improved my earnings.

That's why I decided to set my first goal for Google AdSense - to earn enough to cover my Linode VPS hosting bills, which I set at $40 per month. This may seem like a modest amount, but it's not about the amount, it's about being worth it. To achieve this goal, I need to optimize my CTR and CPC values.

To give you an example, if my CTR is 4% and my CPC is 0.20, I would need 200 clicks and 5000 visitors to earn $40. On the other hand, if my CTR is 2% and my CPC is $1.00, I would need 40 clicks and 2000 visitors to earn $40. As you can see, the number of visitors doesn't matter as much as optimizing your CPC and CTR values. The CPC rates will vary depending on the region and niche you're targeting, so it's important to keep that in mind.

And so, my journey to achieve my first Google AdSense goal of $40 per month begins.
